Behringer TRUTH B2031P Passive Monitor (Single)
An affordable high-resolution, passive 2-way 150-Watt nearfield monitor.
BAJAAO India introduces the Behringer TRUTH B2031P Passive Monitor. Behringer makes TRUTH B2031P Reference Monitors to speak nothing but the truth. When it comes to your studio recordings, you want honesty. In fact, considering how important your art is, you should demand it! Oh, they still sound great hooked up to your stereo or your video surround system, but they were really built with the studio in mind—where every note you play or sing is under the microscope.
Active vs. Passive
Active monitors are designed to take all the guesswork out of matching speakers with amplifiers and crossover networks (among other things), and provide a turnkey solution for exceptional sound in the recording studio. Behringer makes them, loves them, and sells truckloads of them! But there is a place for passive studio monitors, too.
Significant applications for passive monitors include surround-sound theater, stereo systems, computer workstations, etc. Or, maybe you have a stack of high-quality power amps just sitting around collecting dust. Behringer TRUTH B2031P passive studio monitors are a quantum leap from those bookshelf box speakers you may currently be using.
Built on the Behringer Legacy
Behringer TRUTH B2031P monitor has all the great features of the TRUTH B2031A active monitor with one exception; you provide the amplification. Due to their high-resolution performance, B2031P two-way reference studio monitors are perfect for nearfield monitoring applications: from small mixing environments to multi-channel surround setups. TRUTH monitors have been so wildly successful that Behringer has sold thousands upon thousands of them to some of the most critical ears on the planet.
Don’t Let the Size Fool You
Behringer TRUTH B2031P monitors provide ultra-linear frequency response from 55 Hz to 21 kHz. The internal crossover point is fixed at 2.0 kHz for optimal performance of the two-way system. And the B2031P can handle input levels up to 150 Watts.
Rock-Solid Bass
Bookshelf-style home stereo speakers can really fool you when it comes to bass output, mainly because they are not designed for critical listening applications. That’s why recording engineers and producers listen to projects through studio reference monitors or studio-grade headphones. The B2031P’s long-throw 8.75″ polypropylene-diaphragm woofer delivers smooth, deep bass all the way down to 55 Hz. Bass content that isn’t exaggerated, as it can be in home speaker systems. Rock-solid bass that is an honest representation of the recorded sound, full of subtle nuance; the sound of fingers on the strings, or the rush of air through the long pipes of a cathedral organ, etc.
Why the Polypropylene Woofer?
Polypropylene is light and strong, enabling the speaker cone to respond very quickly to fast transient peaks. This low-mass cone material is also much stiffer than paper, important for not only maintaining bass content integrity, but critical for midrange accuracy and definition. The deformation-resistant aluminum die-cast chassis maintains suspension integrity and provides highly efficient voice-coil cooling, even under extreme operating conditions.
Non-Fatiguing, Wide “Sweet Spot”
B2031P’s HF (High Frequency) content comes courtesy of an ultra high-resolution 1.0″ ferrofluid-cooled tweeter mounted on Behringer’s proprietary wave-guide. While some of Behringer’s competitor’s studio monitors have a highly focused “sweet spot” (the optimal listening position for a pair of loudspeakers), Behringer’s wave-guide is designed to create a much more generous, broader listening zone. That means you won’t wear a hole in the carpet in that one spot where everything sounds great. You are free to move around inside the stereo image to find the ideal spot in the mix for subtle instrument or effects placement opportunities.
